Surprise, surprise. Socially responsible investment funds care about corporate governance. The Corporate Library ranked 43 fund families according to how often they voted for shareholder-sponsored resolutions on corporate governance. The top 5 were all socially responsible investment(SRI) funds. The second 5 were, in order: Goldman Sachs, TIAA-CREF, Franklin, JP Morgan, and Smith Barney. The bottom 5? State Street, Putnam, AIM, Federated and, bringing up the rear, Fidelity.
